About Us
The Bird In Hand is a traditional country pub and restaurant situated in the heart of the community in the village of Fforest near Pontarddulais.
The Bird In Hand has been an integral part of the community for over 200 years and has a warm welcome for all.
The Bird In Hand is independently owned and in 2019 was extensively renovated. With the support of the locals the Bird In Hand has now re-taken it's place within the heart of the community once again.
We are very proud to say that the owner has been farming for some twenty years. The main farm namely Pontabraham Farm is about two miles from the 'Bird' with the fields directly opposite the pub being part of the holding, where our livestock can be seen grazing on lovely fresh grass. All the lamb for our delicious lamb dishes served at the 'Bird' come from our home farm. This is something we are very proud of as we strongly believe that this factor contributes greatly to the flavour, taste and texture of the meat.

Absolutely stunning 😍 we had beef, turkey & ham the meats were so tender & juicy , just fell apart .
Everything was hot and so tasty .
The staff were friendly & helpful especially the guy who was behind the carvery.
